Ladies and gentleman, now that the excitement and confusion of the General Election has died down a little I am in a position to reveal the outcome of the Official Monster Raving William Hill Party publicity prize.
There were a number of excellent contenders for this - and there was considerable agonising over the ultimate results, which are as follows..... roll on the drums......
In joint third place we have Toby Jugg for his persistent press releases and terrific local activities; together with Dancing Ken whose very worthy charitable fund-raising drove his and George's efforts
In second place is Chinners, who managed to combine his own publicity crusade with the assistance he gave to others and to the Party's overall media presence
The winner has to be the man who was photographed with the new Prime Minister in a picture which not only dominated a whole page of the Telegraph's Election results round up, but who was also interviewed on national TV's Politics Show by veteran broadcaster Andrew Neill, as well as picking up considerable coverage in other parts of the media. He justified his position as Leader, leading by example - and is a worthy winner.

The prizes are £100 each for the 3rd placed Loonies; £250 for the runner-up and £500 for the winner.
The overall standard of entries was very high and thanks to all the candidates for their efforts and maybe next time with a bit more effort they will be winners as well. We appreciate that it's not always easy to get the media to cover every story they may receive, sutch is life.
I also have to announce that although Crucial Chris was the only candidate who failed to crack the 100 vote barrier to win back his deposit, there were a number of mitigating circumstances which conspired to make his task a very dificult one, so William Hill have decided that they will be handing him a £500 free bet instead in the HOPE that he can win his money back that way!
