Letter from Martyn
I have a problem with items 9 and 10 of the above document (manifesto proposals).
It is a well known fact that socks are the larval form of wire coat hangers. The socks sneak off and hide themselves somewhere warm and dark (possibly the deepest recesses of a wardrobe, although the exact location has never been proven). Here they pupate for an unknown period, emerging in the adult form as wire coat hangers.
This why single socks disappear never to be found, and why wire coat hangers mysteriously appear, apparently from nowhere.
Your proposal to sell socks in threes, to reduce the problem of "the lost one", will in fact result in the world being overrun by a plague of wire coat hangers in a very short time.
This is either; an ill-conceived, and poorly though through policy, devised with no consideration of the global consequences, or an attempt by a senior member of your party to profit from his undeclared interest in scrap metal recycling or wardrobe manufacture. We have a right to be told which!!
