Highly qualified M.P’s
Gordon Brown has confirmed that Sorting out expenses for M.P’s will be dealt with by an outside agency (not the M.P’s themselves) this will help M.P’s who cannot deal with their expenses themselves. A Loony party spokes man commented “Oviously running the country is much easier than sorting out their expenses”.
To Gordon’s credit the Government has agreed that all Gurkha veterans who retired before 1997 with at least four years’ service will be allowed to settle in the UK,..quite right too. It was said that successive Governments had ignored this issue for too long….(Whereas this Goverment only ignored it for 11 years).
Mr Brown told the House of Commons (last Wednesday) that he had a “great deal of sympathy and support” for the Gurkhas. He added: “I believe it is possible for us to honour our commitments to the Gurkhas and to do so in a way that protects the public finances. A Loony party spokes man commented “We wholeheartedly agree with this new policy however we presume there will be a little left for those deserving bankers”
