Bigg Ben & the Remixiteers Unleash ‘Loony Loony 25 26 27’

LoonyLoony 25, 26, 27
A jumpy calypso chant with civic fire and dance floor flair
From the satirical soul of Sidmouth comes a remix that rewrites the rules. Loony Loony 25 26 27, the latest release from Bigg Ben & the Remixiteers, revives a cult classic with a calypso twist, a chant-driven hook, and a verse that demands votes for 16s and civic inclusion for the next generation.
Originally penned by Stuart Hughes in 1997 as a lyrical reimagining of Tommy James’ Mony Mony, the track first hit airwaves under Bigg Ben & the Pundits. Re-issued in 2019 ahead of the General Election, it became a rallying cry for the politically playful. Now, in 2025, it’s reborn with steel drums, syncopated swagger, and a chorus that won’t quit.
Chant 25 26 27 – A rhythmic call to action, echoing through clubs, council halls, and community radio.
Votes for 16s Verse – A bold lyrical addition that blends satire with serious reform.
Dancefloor-Ready – With jumpy calypso beats and Remixiteer flair, it’s set to ignite parties across the UK.
‘Loony Loony has always been about joyful disruption,’ says Hughes. ‘This version brings the bounce, the bite, and the belief that young voices matter.’
