2014_1451_Real_Ale_Train_LogoThe Watercress Line/Mid Hants Steam Railway is running two real ale trains (RATs) in August 2014 (2nd and 30th) both of which will have a different Co-ALE-ition ale on sale. This will be the first ever time a Co-ALE-ition ale has been served on a steam train and there will be 600+ real ale drinkers on each of these trains seeking to give them a go.
The real ale steam train leaves Alton at 19.20 and does two complete round trips to Alresford and gets back to Alton by 22.30 in time to catch the 22.44 to London Waterloo. If people need to get back earlier they can just do one round trip and be back at Alton just before 9pm.
Price per person is £15 which includes a free pint of Co-ALE-ition, after that you only pay £2 per pint (Cheaper than Wetherspoons!).
The Co-ALE-ition ales on sale are:-
Saturday 2nd August 2014 — Langham’s Co-ALE-ition Gold (4.9% abv hoppy golden ale)
Saturday 3oth August 2014 — Ascot Ales’ Co-ALE-ition Hope & Glory (4.6% single hop IPA)
Saturday 4th October 2014 — Longdog Winning Co-ALE-ition 4.2% abv (a malty tasting best bitter).
Tickets can be booked direct online via the website >>follow this link<< or alternatively by contacting Derrill Carr via an email at derrill.carr@btinternet.com or by giving him a call on 01252 622964/07803 292557. Tickets sell out very quickly e.g. trips in March, April and May are all sold out and 2 out of the 4 trips in June are already sold out.
It would be great to have an OMRLP presence on these trains to help publicise the Party and the Co-ALE-ition ales.
