LOONY LEADER TO VISIT MANCHESTER AS PART OF HIS FIGHT TO WIN THE FORTHCOMING BY-ELECTION
Alan ‘Howling Laud’ Hope has announced that he is to stand as a candidate in the Manchester Central by-election to be held in the city on Thursday 15th of November.

In connection with this, the ‘Howling Laud’ will be staying at the Smithfield Hotel, 37 Swan Street, Manchester, M4 5JZ, Tel 0161-839-4424 from Monday November 5th until after the elections results are declared and his magnificent victory is announced. He aims to stay in the City for 11-12 days.

‘The ‘Laud’ will be available from mid-morning to mid- evening for photographs and interviews with the press, TV and local radio. The Party has always cherished its good relationship with the media and ‘The Laud’ intends to afford them every access during the campaign.

The Official Monster Raving Loony Party is a welcome and colourful addition to the British political scene and aims to inject a sense of fun back into politics.

As well as probing the soft-underbelly of Manchester’s social and political scene, ‘The Laud’ will use the occasion of his visit to examine pubs and clubs in the area and raise the prolific Loony awareness.. He has always maintained that, “There is nothing wrong with sensible Loonyism.”

He will also use his visit to launch the Rochdale Branch of the Party on Wednesday November 7th and will visit the town where he will be welcomed by his supporters.

As ‘The Laud’ will arrive in the city on Guy Fawkes night, he will be seeking reassurances from the City Council that the cellars of the Town Hall have been thoroughly checked for barrels of gunpowder in order to ensure the safety of all candidates and electoral staff.
