We called it a ‘Mock Election’ because it had nothing to do with the well-being of the constituency, but a forerunner to usurp the already sitting Prime Minister, by his own party. I think we were out loonied on this one.

However Andy Burnham did turn out to be the winner, so all went according to their plan. Whatever will be, will be, the futures not ours to see, just watch this space!!!

We were there in all our glory, with the kindness and patronage of Sir Tim Martin we were able to use The Brocket Arms Hotel in Wigan as our campaign HQ, in fact we all stayed there. We were also able to use ‘The Moon Under Water’ in Wigan and ‘The Sir Thomas Gerard’ in Makerfield as meeting places, The management and staff of each establishment made us feel very relaxed and welcome. We made friends with a lot of people, real people, the kind you only meet in JD Wetherspoon.
Count night, all the cameras flashing as we made our entrance, someone shouted Elvis has entered the building. Great to see you again, an election isn’t a real one if your not here, but we still didn’t win, what’s up with them?
Fourteen candidates though and we didn’t come last, in fact a very respectable 8th halfway almost. So seems like six candidates below us will never stand again.

At this point it is worth noting, that the other party’s are going out of their way to catch us up. Conservative Lib Dem and Green along with us and seven other party’s all lost their deposit.

Not forgetting Lady Meranguey Foo Foo local party member for providing transport for myself when needed. Last but not least Robin Oakey who turned up from Ledbury just for a day out, and to tell me that all the customers in ‘The Foley Arms’ in Great Malvern are all rooting for us!
