2014_4001_Ascot_Ales_Monsters_In_The_DarkCo-ALE-ition ” Monsters In The Dark Exile Stout ”  to be officially launched in Surrey and Hampshire on Thursday 3rd July 2014.
These are the provisional arrangements so far for what is likely to be our final Co-ALE-ition ale launch this year. I can also confirm there are no World Cup games scheduled on Thursday 3rd July.
1. Official launch at the Ascot Ales brewery in Camberley, Surrey (3 miles from Farnborough train station) from 6pm. Hosted by Chris Gill (owner and head brewer). Also an opportunity to sample some other excellent award winning ales from the Ascot brewery straight from the cask including our very own Hope & Glory.
2. Pub launch 1 – Golden Pot in Eversley (CAMRA 2014 GBG pub), this launch event held at this picturesque chocolate box village pub and will be hosted by the new owner/landlord Gary Pope. Monsters In The Dark Exile Stout will be available on handpump.
3. Pub launch 2 – Waggon and Horses in Hartley Wintney (CAMRA 2014 GBG pub which was CAMRA North Hants branch pub of the year in 2013). The launch in this very popular village pub will be hosted by Niall Scott (Landlord) and our Monsters In The Dark Exile Stout will be served by gravity feed straight from the cask.
4. Pub launch 3 – White Hart Hotel in Hook (CAMRA 2014 GBG pub). This is a 500 year old coaching inn steeped in history. The launch will be hosted by Scott and Ginni Bowley and Monsters In The Dark exile stout will be available on handpump.
5. For those that would like to have a memorable meal we will finish off at the Hook Tandoori (rated the best Indian restaurant in Hampshire).
Hook railway station is 1 minute walk from the Hook Tandoori and 3 minutes walk from the White Hart Hotel. Direct trains from Hook station to Fleet, Farnborough, Basingstoke, Winchester and London run frequently until just before midnight.
For those travelling a long distance overnight accommodation including free car parking is available at the following hotels:-
( i ) Travel Lodge Fleet (1 mile from Fleet station) – double room if you book online is £72.
( ii ) Premier Inn Fleet (100 metres from Fleet station) – double room if you book online is £80.
( iii ) Travel Lodge Farnborough (less than a mile from Farnborough station) — double room or family room (sleeps three) if you book on line are both £54.
Transport will be available from Fleet and Farnborough to the Ascot Ales brewery in Camberley and also to the three pubs in Eversley, Hartley Wintney and Hook and for those people who want to go to the Indian restaurant in Hook.
Both the News and Mail and the Basingstoke Gazette will be covering the official launch of Monsters In The Dark Exile Stout on the 3rd July.
Please let Derrill Carr know if you would like to attend all or any of these launch events on Thursday 3rd July so arrangements can be made regarding transport requirements, table booking at the restaurant and also to advise Ascot Ales brewery and the three pubs of the likely numbers attending each venue. Derrill’s contact details are as follows:

Attached below is some further information about our Monsters In The Dark Exile Stout together with the tasting notes.
“Monsters In the Dark Exile Stout” brewed by Ascot Ales
This is our latest Co-ALE-tion ale (No 8 and still counting) and is an Exile Stout with a 5% abv. Monsters In The Dark is a Co-ALE-ition rebranded version of Anastasias Exile Stout which as well as being a multi award winning ale over several years was also voted by CAMRA as the best stout in the whole of London and the SE for 2013/2014. Anastasias Exile Stout was also awarded the Silver Medal in CAMRA’s 2014 Champion Winter Beer of Britain competition which was announced at the Winter Ale Festival held in Derby during February earlier this year. So a real coup for Co-ALE-ition and especially for the Monster Raving Loony Party who can now offer the best stout in London and the SE to the ever growing number of Co-ALE-ition drinkers which is also rated by CAMRA as the second best stout in the whole of the UK.
Tasting notes — Monsters In The Dark Exile Stout is packed full of chocolate and roasted coffee flavours with a slight sherry tasting aroma and is further bittered to balance the sweetness of the malts. This exile stout has a unique hoppy aroma with noticeable orange and pine flavours flowing through to a silky smooth finish.
The pumpclip features the eye catching photo of Alan Hope with his OMRLP Cabinet and they are monsters in the dark as they continue to ignore political protocol and operate as a Party in exactly the same way as they have always done over the last 30 years – what you see is never what you get with the Loony Party there is always an X-Factor which no doubt you will witness first hand if you come to any of these launch events on 3rd July.
