I hereby declare that ‘Mad Max Bobetsky’ of North East Hants was the shining light with 384 votes, his first time in and only 20yrs old!

We managed 3,898 votes between us, 8 of us not coming last, 2 of us beating 2 others and 6 of us beating 1 other, and 1 of us beating 5 others. Well done to you all, I hope you enjoyed yourselves, good fun ain’t it! 13 other candidates also stood in local elections on the same day, we’re not sure of all those results yet, but believe that we shall have at least 5 town/parish councillors returned unopposed.

Its sad to say that we were out loonied by a very good friend of ours, Ronnie Carroll, who stood as ‘The Eurovisionary Carroll’ in the Hampstead & Kilburn seat. Ronnie was a good friend of myself and Lord Sutch and used to stand for George Weiss’s ‘Rainbow Alliance Party’ to which we were very friendly with in the 80s and 90s. His aim was to come fourth, as he did in the Eurovision Song Contest, twice. Alas he come fifth from six!

He put his papers in, only to pass away before the election, but was still a standing candidate, he still managed 113 votes and didn’t come last!

So long Ronnie, remembering you and I singing ‘Danny Boy’ on stage, at the Hartlepool by-election, fond memories of a nice friend!
