Christmas Message from our Leader

Well its ‘ere again, it dont arf come quick,dont it. But they say if your enjoying yourself time flies by.
We had a year of enjoying what we do best, so time flew by I suppose ! It certainly doesn’t seem like a year ago that i was recalling the year before !
I started off the year in Malta with some very fine Maltese Loonies,some said that they may make the conference, but alas, timings were difficult apparently,never mind, next time maybe.
Was not back here long before I had to put in an appearance in Bath, I go there every year to attend ‘The Ball’ where I can certainly get alot of inspiration from, cause alot of our members and sympathisers gather too !
Mad, Mad, March saw us converge on ‘Bradford West’ with swords honed to an edge to take on Gorgeous George Galloway, sad to say he won this fight hands down, but we didn’t come last !
With the help of Nick ‘The Flying Brick’ and our ‘Spin Doctor’ Dr Charon Singh MD we put on quite a show, along with our other super loonies we sang George a song all about himself, dont know if he was impressed or not,he tried his hardest not to smile, but we won this one, (by the way MD has a silent A in the middle)
April, Easter time, was spent up in Uttoxeter arranging the forthcoming conference to be held in Sept,more on that later.
May was very busy month for quite a lot of us standing in local elections,results can be seen elswhere on our Web Page, thanks to all those that stood we had a great turnout and certainly helped keep the Party up where it belongs in peoples minds and in the headlines !
June was off on Loony Tour again,this time back to Slovenia to renew friendships of the Adriatic Loonies.This was one of the countries among others that carried that wonderful photo of myself and David Cameron from the 2010 general election,believe it or not, most speak very good english and we are held in high esteem over there !
July and August is known as the quiet season, nothing really happens in the summer recess so I busied myself with a week or two going places in England, places like Colchester,Ipswich,Cambridge and Felixstowe. Felixstowe was wonderful, made lots of friends and I’m pretty sure we will have a candidate there next General Election !
Sept, first two weeks was spent in Ashburton,Devon remeniscing about the good old days of the Golden Lion, for those that dont know, this is where the Party was first formed in 1982 between Lord Sutch, myself and my wife Norma,and this was the town where I became the Town Mayor 1998-2000.
Then of course the next stop Uttoxeter,Party Conference,first time there, but what a reception,the whole town thought it was carnival day all over again,in fact the town doesn’t have an official carnival anymore and it was suggested that we come every year and do it again. Thanks to all the party members who came along,all the locals that joined in, and the Newpapers, for all the wonderful coverage ! At this
moment in time we are looking at the possibility of going abroad again for our next Conference, remember we went to Jersey once and how good that was. Well ! ! ! ! it could be, wait for it,
WALES next, Cardiff maybe, if Gemma and her gang can get to work on it. Anyway more about that if it happens,will keep you well informed !
Also ‘Crazy Crab’ stood for us in Runnymede,Surrey,he came last, but so what he was there, well done Crabby were proud of you !
October, got invited to a wonderful ‘Do’ in Wokingham,not too far from me,once again looniness was in the air, this is the seat of John Redwood and the seat that our deputy leader ‘Top Cat Owen’ contests so we are well known there,I was accompanied by the delighful ‘Yvonne Elwood’ a long time friend of the
Party from the early days !
November, no rest for loonyism,now were at the ‘Ace Cafe’ in London thanks to ‘Lord Toby Jug’ who had worked hard for some time to arrange for a commemorative plaque to be unveiled in memory of Screaming Lord Sutch.You can read Toby’s account of the of the shenanighans elswhere on this page.
I might like to add to his thoughts and thank a number of people apart from those Toby has already thanked,such as ‘Wild Bob Burgoss’ ‘Chris Black’ and daughter ‘Clare’ ‘Johnny Repsch’ ‘Chris Dowling’ ‘Bob Gregory’ ‘Kenny Froud’ ‘Rosie Ono’ ‘Mike Quinn’ ‘Rocking Robbo’ ‘Mitch Mitchell’ ‘Nigel Knapp’ and many more who have and still are in many cases involved with the party, If I’ve missed someone out I’m
sorry, but on behalf of myself and Toby,nice to see you all ! !
The very next day,pack my bags,white suit and all, I’m up North for the Manchester Central By-election 10 days of complete looniness and stupidity,well what more would you expect. We made our mark,they wont forget us,once again were not last.Thanks to ‘Dave Mancini Machin’ ‘Debbie Deb Debs’ Peter ‘Two Scoops’ Hinchliffe and all that came along, especially Andy and John from Northenden,thanks it was all worth while. Once again see write up elswhere !
Back home now and Johnny ‘Cocoa Bean’ Cartwright is doing a by-election in Croydon,I’m booked in for the count, got to be there, but I cant, its all caught up with me,I’ve been struck down with the ‘Loony Bug’
Ok now, but would loved to have been there,sorry John, but not sorry for him, cause he did us proud once again,a stalwart campaigner !
December, phew,lets have some rest,oh no,three dinner party’s,one after dinner speech and lots of merriment still to happen I suppose,so lets finish where we started,no rest for the Loonies ! !
