Howling calls it right in today’s Budget
The Chancellor of the Exchequer announced the official end of the beer duty escalator today together with a further reduction of 1p in beer duty.
Howling put forward a very strong case to CAMRA and stated that freezing the beer duty was not enough, the campaign this year should go for an actual reduction in beer duty. Emily Ryan, the Campaign Manager for CAMRA, wrote back to Alan last month thanking Alan for his support and said “Let’s hope the Government once again listens to reason and follows your lead”
Well today the Coalition Government listened and followed Howling’s lead.
‘Vote for Insanity’ you know it makes beer sense.
Here is Howling celebrating today’s Budget result with a pint of Co-ALE-ition GOLD and in celebration of today’s budget announcement GOLD now stands for ‘George Osborne Lowers Duty’.
