I accredit my 370 votes mainly to the “Manickfesto” flyer that was delivered to the 39,000 households in the constituency. My main policy was bringing the Loch Ness Monster to the lake in my local park. Plus the fact I was probably a bit of a novelty as I am the first ever Loony to stand here. I thought it was very brave of the Attorney General, Jeremy Wright, to stand against me. In the end he only beat me by 28,104 votes.
I must say that throughout my campaign and the day of the Count I never received one negative comment from anybody.
All the parties just loved us being there and about time too they said. We livened the place up no end. There was 6 of us at the Count, including my Election Agent Gary Bratwurst Sweetman, Swampy, Rabbit, Kermit and the Joker. Even Jeremy Wright came up to me and said he was glad we were there. He also congratulated me on my “Manickfesto” which he found very funny and was very close to voting for me.  I told him that I found his leaflets very funny as well!!
I did a live radio interview on the local BBC Coventry & Warwickshire station, talking mainly about the Loch Ness Monster and the size of my rosette. Great day!!
