This is our latest Co-ALE-tion ale (No 8 and still counting) and is an Exile Stout with a 5% abv. Monsters In The Dark is a Co-ALE-ition rebranded version of Anastasias Exile Stout which as well as being a multi award winning ale was also the 2013/14 Gold award winner in the stout category for the whole of London and the South East at CAMRA’s Champion Beer of Britain competition. Anastasias Exile Stout was also awarded the Silver Medal at CAMRA’s 2014 Champion Winter Beer of Britain which was announced at the Winter Ale Festival held in Derby during February earlier this year. So a real coup for Co-ALE-ition and especially for the Monster Raving Loony Party who can now offer the best stout in the SE which is also the second best stout in the whole of the UK.
Tasting notes — Monsters In The Dark is packed full of chocolate and roasted coffee flavours with a slight sherry tasting aroma and further bittered to balance the sweetness of the malts. This exile stout has a unique hoppy aroma with noticeable orange and pine flavours flowing through to a silky smooth finish.
